This policy explains which items are prohibited or restricted from being transported using DayCourier services.
For safety, legal compliance, and insurance reasons, certain goods cannot be accepted for delivery.
By placing an order with DayCourier, you confirm that your shipment does not contain any prohibited items.
1. Prohibited Items
DayCourier does not transport the following items under any circumstances:
- Illegal goods of any kind
- Drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or explosives
- Fireworks or flammable materials
- Hazardous, toxic, or corrosive substances
- Compressed gases or pressurised containers
- Live animals or insects
- Human remains or biological waste
- Cash, banknotes, or negotiable instruments
- Stolen or counterfeit goods
- Pornographic or obscene material
- Any items prohibited under UK law
2. Restricted Items
The following items may be transported only with prior written approval and may require additional handling or protection:
- High-value items (above £100)
- Fragile items (e.g. glass, electronics, artwork)
- Jewellery, watches, or precious metals
- Medical equipment
- Confidential or sensitive documents
- Liquids or perishable goods
DayCourier reserves the right to refuse any restricted item if it is not properly packaged, declared, or suitable for transport.
3. Packaging Requirements
Customers must ensure that:
- Items are safely and securely packaged
- Packaging is suitable for road transport
- Fragile items are clearly labelled
- Items will not leak, spill, or break during transport
DayCourier is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate or improper packaging.
4. Declaration Responsibility
Customers are responsible for:
- Accurately declaring the contents of the shipment
- Declaring the correct value of items
- Ensuring the shipment complies with this policy and UK law
Failure to declare prohibited or restricted items may result in:
- Immediate cancellation of the delivery
- No refund
- Reporting to relevant authorities where required by law
5. Right to Refuse Service
DayCourier reserves the right to refuse or cancel any delivery where:
- The contents are prohibited or restricted
- The description provided is false, misleading, or incomplete
- The shipment presents a safety, legal, or operational risk
6. Liability
DayCourier accepts no liability for:
- Loss or damage caused by prohibited or restricted items
- Legal consequences arising from illegal shipments
- Delays or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete declarations
Standard liability limits (including £100 per order) remain applicable as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
