COURIER TERMS – DayCourier

By accessing the DayCourier platform, accepting delivery requests, completing deliveries, or otherwise using the service, the Courier confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
Where acceptance is confirmed via electronic communication (including but not limited to WhatsApp, SMS, or email), such confirmation shall constitute a legally binding agreement.
Continued use of the platform constitutes ongoing acceptance of these Terms.
If the Courier does not agree to these Terms, they must not use the platform.
These Terms apply to all courier partners using the DayCourier platform.
1. Role of the Courier
The Courier operates as an independent self-employed contractor and is not an employee of DayCourier.
The Courier provides delivery services using the DayCourier platform.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using the platform or completing deliveries, the Courier agrees to these Terms.
3. Use of the Platform
The Courier agrees to:
- use the platform only for delivery purposes
- follow instructions provided through the platform
- communicate professionally with customers
- maintain accurate status updates during deliveries
4. Data Protection (GDPR)
The Courier may have access to personal data, including names, addresses, and contact details.
The Courier agrees to:
- use personal data only for the purpose of completing deliveries
- not store, copy, or share personal data outside the platform
- keep all personal data confidential
- comply with applicable data protection laws
DayCourier remains the Data Controller for all customer data.
5. Insurance
The Courier must hold valid delivery insurance (Hire & Reward) at all times.
Goods in Transit (GIT) insurance is strongly recommended.
Couriers may operate without GIT insurance during an initial onboarding period, subject to approval by DayCourier.
In such cases:
- The Courier accepts full responsibility for any loss or damage to items while in their possession
- Responsibility may extend up to the declared value, subject to DayCourier limits
DayCourier does not provide insurance coverage to courier partners.
6. Conduct
The Courier agrees to:
- handle items with care
- deliver to the correct recipient
- follow all applicable road safety and legal requirements
- act professionally at all times
7. Payments
Payments are managed through the platform.
The Courier will receive payment according to the agreed platform rates and completed deliveries.
8. Suspension
DayCourier may suspend or terminate access to the platform in case of:
- breach of these Terms
- unsafe or inappropriate conduct
- misuse of the platform
9. Liability
The Courier is responsible for items while in their possession.
DayCourier is not responsible for losses or damages caused by the Courier’s actions or negligence.
10. Cancellations
The Courier must not cancel orders after accepting them.
If the Courier is unable to complete a delivery, they must immediately contact DayCourier support and follow instructions.
Unauthorised cancellations may result in:
- reduced access to delivery opportunities
- temporary suspension
- permanent removal from the platform
DayCourier reserves the right to manage all cancellations and determine the appropriate action.
11. Claims, Liability and Reimbursement
All customer claims for loss, damage, or non-delivery must be submitted directly to DayCourier.
DayCourier has sole discretion to assess the validity of any claim.
The Courier is responsible for any item from collection until delivery, including:
- loss
- damage
- incorrect delivery
- failure to deliver
Where a claim is accepted, DayCourier may compensate the customer.
The Courier agrees to reimburse DayCourier for any compensation paid, in accordance with these Terms.
Where the Courier holds valid insurance:
- the Courier must submit a claim to their insurer
- any compensation received must be transferred to DayCourier
The Courier remains responsible for the item regardless of insurance status or claim outcome.
If uninsured, the Courier is personally liable for the value of the loss or damage.
DayCourier reserves the right to deduct any amounts owed from future payments, where applicable.
Compensation for any claim will be based on the declared item value, up to a maximum limit of £100, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Items exceeding this value may not be accepted or may require special arrangement.
12. Changes to Terms
DayCourier reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.
The latest version published on the platform applies.
